You ever-so-gently shift the ball so it plops in the cup, and
the Chief looks at you.

"Rong, did you help me out on that shot?"

You think for a minute.

"Erm... no sir... there was a tiny earthquake tremor, and it
uhhh..it uhh... made my foot hit the ball. Though you would
have sunk it anyway, sir."

You ram Bonkers in the side rather hard. Bonkers nods.

"Yeah- yeah- that's it. An earthquake."

He frowns and turns to you, whispering.

"The space alien excuse always works better on him!"

Before you can explain that aliens had caused the quake, the
Chief slaps you on the back.

"How perceptive of you, officer! I didn't even notice a tremor!
I think I'll clear a demerit off your record, if you've got one."

"Wow", you think.
